Stretch everyday: Give yourself at least 5 minutes every morning to stretch. Stretching helps relieve tension and gets your blood pumping. It will help to get your day off to a good start and relieve stress.

Relax: If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, go somewhere quiet and close your eyes while relaxing your muscles. Concentrate on deep breething while inhaling through the nose and exhaling out the mouth. If your at work and can't get somewhere quiet, you can still do the breething without closing your eyes. Try to do it 10 to 20 times to help relieve stress.

Exercise: Finding time to exercise can be difficult for busy individuals. Try doing a few squats every time you take a shower. If you have a few extra minutes out of the week, go for a short walk. If your busy with the kids, set everything aside for a few minutes and take them for a walk with you. Maybe you can make some extra time once or twice a week to go to a family oriented gym. You can exercise while spending quality time with your family. The YMCA is a great affordable place for that. No matter what you come up with, just remember, a few minutes of exercise 2 to 3 times a week can go a long way.

Healthy Eating: Busy people tend to have not so healthy eating habits. Try changing the way you eat, even if it's one thing a week that you change. Try supplmenting that midday soda or coffee for a healthy vitamin filled drink. Try adding some fruits and vegetables to your afternoon snack. Change your oil. Get yours from fish, nuts, and liquid oils such as corn, soybean, canola, and olive oil. Try whole grains instead of half or white. Little things you do with your diet will make a big difference in the way you feel.

Adequate rest: Cat naps here and there help, but not if you're not getting a good nights sleep. A good nights sleep has a huge impact on the way you feel and function. Even if the day doesn't go as planned, getting enough deep rest helps things to go much smoother. Ever notice how much better you feel after a good nights sleep? Plan your day on what time you have to be up in the morning, allowing yourself to get to bed at a decent time.

Drink water: Sometimes being dehydrated can be mistaken for being hungry or tired. Coffee and pop quench the thirst temporarliy, but don't rehydrate you. It actually does the opposite. Our bodies lose about 10 cups of water every day during it's nornal functioning, requiring us to replace it with the water we drink and food we eat. Drinking enough water will make you feel refreshed and energized, and our bodies need it to function properely.

Jot things down: Writing down your days events will help you to plan out your days effectively and efficiently, in turn relieve stress. Even if things don't go as planned, at least you'll have an idea of what needs to be done and when. You can prioritize your list and get through the important stuff first.

Control clutter: Clutter tends to make everything in your life feel out of control and unorganized. Take time to organize your stuff, so there's a place for everything. There's nothing wrong with making the kids help in this area. Coming home to a nice clean house, or going to a nice clean office will start your mood on a positive note.

Make goals: Set goals that are challenging, yet realistic. Everyone deserves to know what they want and how they're getting there. Have one big goal and then some mini goals to help you reach that big goal. Reward yourself along the way. Dreams aren't just dreams if your doing something to make them a reality. I once heard, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing day after day and expecting different results.

Stay positive: No matter how rough life seems at times, keeping a positive attitude will end in positive results. Being around positive people will help you to stay positive. The same goes with negative people. Being around negative people will eventually turn you into a negative individual. Who wants that?

Don't get in over your head: Don't purchase things you can't afford. If you really want it, write down the pros and cons. Save up for it. Make a goal as to when you're going to purchase it. Try to stay away from charging it on a credit card. Impulsive shopping can lead to disaster.
